Qanuingisiarta is a project that has four main objectives:
1) Explore the conceptualisations of Inuit wellbeing
2)Documenting community practices towards Inuit wellbeing
3)Exploring ways of supporting community members who organise and animate these practices
4)Explore ways of supporting knowledge passing from generation to generation.
WORKING TOGETHER TOWARDS COMMUNITY WELLBEING
We worked with community members in building the objectives and the methods of the project. Local co-researchers conducted interviews with key informants and helped with qualitative data analysis. We have been using a grounded theory approach to develop tools that are meant to support community members in their work.
With their help we are developing a common understanding of Inuit wellbeing, documenting examples of these practices, documenting the challenges and the facilitators as well as the ways to create supporting environments.
